|salad nicoise' and a rant-long time coming|

| thursday |
good morning!
Now I get up at 4:30-5:30 every morning...
but to my neighbor who likes to ride his Harley but leaves it idling for 10 minutes
at 5:00am...
you are not popular in this house.
It scares the dogs, awakes the roosters...
It is unsettling.
So this leads me into my tiny rant on people
who seem to think that their sphere of influence is larger than it is.
Or as I like to call them :
selfish.
There is an epidemic of it lately.
If you don't think that others' feelings or circumstances
are as important as yours then I feel sorry for you.
You did not learn the gracious lesson of empathy.
and here is a secret that you are too self-involved to
notice...
Lots of people know what a negative Ned/Nellie you are and because they
HAVE learned the lessons on tact & class, they will not tell you.
Some will steer clear of you once they know, others
will hope you will change and still more will
just be silent ...complicit by weakness or apathy.
yes, this may seem like a passive- aggressive post, it is not.
There are just so many this applies to so it just  seems overly vague.
But I finally am standing up for those of us who
have been victims
 &
unwilling witnesses to this self-serving
&
 truly childish behavior.
Just grow up.
ok, I feel a bit better, thank you.
Life has been challenging in so many ways lately.
It is like I received a new puzzle but the box contains pieces
that don't quite fit mixed in with some that do.
I had a wonderful teacher, my mother who made situations like this
a lesson.
I hear her...
:: keep doing the next right thing ::
This is a fairly helpful chart.
When you are weak, emotionally or physically it is hard to
see the next logical thing when faced with stresses that steer you away from
what is truly important .
I may be an empath, but I also have a wicked analytical part of my brain
that always wants to know "why" when simply saying," because I feel it"
does not satisfy my need to know.
Human relationships are hard.
That is my conclusion for today.
Which is why I need my pets.
and a few cats....

The Herb Shed is a wonderful place to come to see pretty & inspiring
pictures, gather recipes & have a laugh, but I also hope that it is a place to come when you need to
feel supported.
I am a flawed, imperfect soul making mistakes all over the place.
I am so grateful to have this space to regurgitate them upon
and a following of sweet people who may think more highly of myself than I do on the regular.
Life is a story...
If you stumbled upon this chapter of mine, don't despair, it always gets more interesting!
To make this post lighter & happier for myself & you all,
I am adding my favorite salad recipe.
{minus the anchovies }
Enjoy kittens.
Count those blessings!
xxx ooo
